Upcoming games and special events for the University of Victoria Vikes varsity teams. All times listed below are in Pacific Time.

The Vikes men’s basketball team returned home with two wins after a weekend series on the road against the UBC Okanagan Heat. Victoria knocked off the Heat 91-75 on Friday night and by a score of 82-61 on Saturday night. The two wins were crucial in the Vikes clinching a playoff spot as now they will just need one win in the final weekend to book their ticket to the post season. Victoria will welcome the MacEwan Griffins to CARSA this weekend for You Can Play night on Friday, Feb.1 and Senior night on Saturday, Feb.2.

The Vikes women’s basketball team clinched a playoff spot this past weekend after picking up a pair of wins over the UBC Okanagan Heat. Now the Vikes will battle for the right to host the first round elimination game of the Canada West playoffs. Victoria currently holds the eighth best RPI percentage in the conference and they will need to finish eighth or higher if they wish to host. The Vikes will welcome the MacEwan Griffins to the UVic campus for a pair of games on Feb.1-2. MacEwan will be battling for one of the last two playoff spots in the conference.

The Vikes men’s rugby team picked up a huge win over the Capilano RFC this past Saturday, knocking off the North Vancouver based rugby club by a score of 83-31. Gradyn Bowd scored four tries and kicked nine conversions to lead the Vikes to victory. This weekend, the Vikes will welcome the reigning BC Premier League and Canadian Club champions, the UBCOB Ravens, to Wallace Field this Saturday, Feb.2 at 2:30 p.m. The Ravens currently hold a 7-3 record on the season while the Vikes sit with an even record of 5-5.

The Vikes women’s 7s team finished in third place at the first tournament in of their Canada West campaign. Victoria was edged by Lethbridge in the tournament semi-finals in Edmonton by a score of 14-12 but rebounded with a win over Calgary in the third-place match. The Vikes are the reigning Canada West 7s champs and will look to get back on top of their game with a first place finish in Abbotsford this weekend.

Saturday/Sunday, Feb. 2-3: Vikes at Fraser Valley 7s Tournament (Abbotsford, B.C.)

The Vikes track team is gearing up to compete at the Canada West Championships on Feb.22-23 and the U SPORT National Champions on Mar.7-9. Victoria will travel to Winnipeg this weekend to race in the Bison Classic hosted by the University of Manitoba. This will be the largest meet the Vikes will participate in before the championship meets at the end of February and in early March.

The University of Victoria will welcome competitors from across North American to the CARSA Performance Gym on Sunday Feb. 3 for the Monster Erg event. This is a premiere indoor rowing event and is sanctioned qualifier for the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Long Beach, CA on February 24, 2019.
