The Victoria Track Series finished its eighth season this year and to celebrate we are having our annual party. The event will take place above the Sticky Wicket in the Maple Room from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, October 15.

The first 40 people to arrive will each receive two Victoria HarbourCats game tickets to any game during the 2018 season. For the $10 registration fee, you will be able to enjoy a beverage and appetizers and draw prizes, included.

Additionally, two-time Olympian and run coach Bruce Deacon will be on hand and will say a few words. Deacon has run under 2:20 in the marathon more than 20 times, he has also competed in the Commonwealth Games, World Championships and earned a medal in the Pan Am Games. He is a two-time winner of the California International Marathon and won the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon.

Currently, he coaches and manages the most successful youth training group in Canada, the Prairie Inn Harriers Youth Team.

Jim Swanson, owner of the Victoria HarbourCats, will also be on hand to meet and greet and say a few words. Swanson is a former pro baseball player and spent two decades as a sports editor with the Prince George Citizen.

He, with a good management team, run the most successful West Coast League franchise and one of the all-time most successful sports franchises in Victoria’s history.
