In this candid interview, 2012 world kickboxing champion Lindsay Ball talks about how the BC Athletics Commission potentially railroaded her kickboxing bout in Victoria on Friday, May 31.
It was a comeback fight, after having her career put on hold due to apparent foot-dragging by the government-managed commission.
She fought Mexican Mariana Ramirez in a “kickboxing” fight wearing mixed martial arts gloves. The two agreed to fight only standing up.
Additionally, the commission forced her to have a physical stressed test at the last minute. She was only able to find a willing physician on fight day, when she should have been resting.
