The Victoria Grizzlies went on an 8-and-2 run in November allowing them to maintain first place in the Island Division with a record of 20-9-0-1, six points up (41-35) over the second-place Powell River Kings. Sunday, however, they suffered defeat at the hands of the West Kelowna Warriors by the score of 6-1 at The Q Centre in Colwood.

The only goal the Grizzlies managed came at 17:15 of the third period, an unassisted marker by Carter Berger, his 15th of the season.

For the Warriors, Chase Dubois led the charge with two goals, the opening goal at 4:43 of the first and another at 15:52 of the second period. By that time, they were up 4-0. The third period would be an uphill climb.

Mike Hardman and Lucas Cullen scored at 8:35 and 14:41 of the third, to put the game out of reach for the Grizzlies.

Also, scoring was Max Bulawka and Cavin Tilsley.

The respective powerplays went 0/1 for the Warriors and 0/5 for the Grizzlies.
Brock Baier earned the win in net for the Warriors with 39 saves. Kyle Dumba took the loss stopping 31 of 37 fired his way.

The Grizzlies next play Friday at The Q Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 pm. They host the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
