The Westshore Rebels’ first Victoria this season was an exciting one with a trouncing of the Chilliwack Valley Huskers with a 31-point differential, winning by the score of 45-14. The Rebels offence produced 643 net yards on offense, 29 first downs and a record setting 29 pass completions by quarterback Ashton MacKinnon. MacKinnon utilised nine different receivers. This performance alone provided MacKinnon with the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.

In addition to the furious offense the Rebels defense performed very well too. Sheldon Mack and Jordan Goertzen combined with 10 tackles, six for Mack and four for Goertzen, respectively. They had further support from teammate Darian Slater who provided two QB sacks, with this combined efforts, the Rebels held the Valley Huskers to just 14 points.
