Braedan Willis, University of Victoria

In her fifth and final season, University of Victoria Vikes women’s soccer player Katie Carrothers has been named a Canada West Second Team All-Star.

CANADA WEST RELEASE

Carrothers was a mainstay in the Vikes defensive back line in 2018, starting in all 13 regular seasons games and Victoria’s lone playoff game against Saskatchewan. She totalled 1260 minutes of field time, never missing a single minute of action over the entire 2018 season.

Highlighting her career at UVic was a Canada West silver medal won in 2017, the same year Carrothers helped carry her squad to a fifth-place finish at the U SPORTS National Championships.

The Victoria native earned Academic All-Canadian honours in her first three seasons playing with the Vikes.

The Vikes finished in fourth place in the Canada West pacific Division standings with a 7-6-1 record but were eliminated from the playoffs in the play-in round by the Saskatchewan Huskies.
