Cameron Coutre had a goal and three assists as the Westshore Wolves defeated the Victoria Cougars 4-1 at The Q Centre on Wednesday night.

Also scoring for Westshore were Andy Westhaver, Keegan Durrance, and Brandon Tutte.

The Cougars, who took three out of four points from the high-powered Nanaimo Buccaneers this past weekend, trailed 3-0 after 20 minutes.

With the Wolves up 4-0 early in the third period, Foster Martin cut into the lead at 7:34 after burying a powerplay goal for Victoria.

Jordan Spandli, who was named the game’s second star, stopped 19 shots for his sixth win of the season.

Westshore (16-10-1-1) now leads the second-place Cougars (14-11-0-1) by five points in the South Island Division.

Patrick Ostermann made 26 saves in the loss.

Both teams had six powerplay opportunities.

Next game for Victoria is Thursday, December 7 versus the Saanich Braves.  Game time at Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
