The BCFC has slated this week #CJFLrivalry week across the country and the Westshore Rebels are ready on and off the field.
The Raiders had a tough week in Kelowna losing 28-7 to the Okanagan Sun, and are hoping to get back to the friendly confines of Caledonia Park in Nanamo.
However, the Westshore Rebels, who are coming off a victory in Chilliwack are gearing up to invade Nanaimo. There is a Rebels tailgate planned in the lacrosse box south of the field from 11-1:30 where there will be family fun, chance to win Victoria Royals home opener tickets, face painting and a donation bin in support of the Nanaimo and Westshore food banks.
More information on location, events can be found at www.westshorerebels.ca.
The Rebels have a limited supply of tickets for the game available.Even though last weeks score of 27-22 seemed close, the Rebels offence, defence and special teams are working as a cohesive unit. The air game with Mackinnon, Davies, Lake and Barkhouse, the ground game with Worth along with kicking from Cotoure and defensive standouts Bradley, Goertzen and Wist proved too much for the Valley Huskers. They, along with the unmentioned men ‘in the trenches’ are gearing up for a showdown in Nanaimo.
Saturday’s game is available on pay per view, but the Rebels are calling on their fans to help pack Caledonia Park. They will have updates through social media via Twitter, Facebook or text message and can be accessed by visiting www.westshorerebels.ca.
NEXT GAME (Home): Saturday September 26 @ 3pm vs Okanagan Sun. Minor football celebration (Students k-12 with pamphlet get in free)
