The B.C. Football Conference champion Westshore Rebels are taking on the two-time defending national champion Saskatoon Hilltops today at Westhills Stadium at 1:00 PM.
The Canadian Bowl will be played for the first time in Greater Victoria.
The Hilltops will be tough to beat, as they have won a total of 18 national titles, including five of the past six years.
For the B.C. title, the Rebels defeated the Okanagan Sun 32-21 in the BCFC championship game two weeks ago at Westhills.
For the Cullen Cup win, the Rebels got off to a big 32-0 half-time lead, and then held off the hard-charging Sun the rest of the way.
For the Rebels to take this game, they will have to continue to rely on their ground game and the fast feet of the two running backs Jamel Lyles and Trey Campbell.
The Hilltops gave up 31 points to the Calgary Colts during their 43-31 Prairie Football Conference final. They also gave up a massive 468 yards in net offence.
The Hilltops believe that their veteran presence will take care of the game on the field. They are after all the two-time defending national champions.
Meanwhile, the Rebels relish being considered the so-called underdogs. The odds favour the Hilltops, but the Rebels have defied expectations all season long, going 8-1-1 on the season and winning the Cullen Cup.
