The Westshore Rebels eked out a win against the Langley Rams in Langley on Saturday, taking their BC Football Conference competitors by the score of 19-16 during their season openers.
The Rebels are defending league champions, while the Rams are apparently rebuilt for this season and will apparently be more competitive this season.
The Rebels came from behind and basically won the game during the fourth quarter, scoring nine points. They entered the fourth quarter down 16-10.
Nathan Falito scored the game-winner late in the game.
Khaliel James scored the Rebels only other touchdown during the second quarter.
It was the only game in the BCFC, Saturday. The remaining teams in the league open their seasons Sunday with the Okanagan Sun playing in Kamloops against the Broncos and the Vancouver Island Raiders visit the Fraser Valley Huskers in Chilliwack.
The Okanagan Sun will play at Westhills Stadium to take on the Westshore Rebels for the Rebels home opener on Sunday.
