Another gorgeous weekend on the Island – all games were able to get played in week 2 in the VISL’s top flight – Division 1.

The Feature game of Gorge vs Cowichan – which served as the 1st Annual Cup Winners Cup Challenge game, finished with Cowichan winning 3-2 after sudden death penalty shots.
The restored trophy from 1905 is retained by a team North of the Malahat, just as it was when last played for in 1920.
Comox failed to get their first points of the season while Mid Isle accomplished that.
Mid Isle was lead by Dan Citra who slotted 2 goals.
Nanaimo stays undefeated as they blank Vic West. Geoff Hackett with his 2nd shutout to start off the year. Nanaimo was led by Paddy Greig who scored twice.

Bays Utd stay undefeated as they blank newcomers Fernwood by score of 3-0
Newcomers Cooper Barry, Patrick Nelson, and Craig Gorman counting for Bays.

In a challenging match at Westhills, Lakehill remains undefeated as well by slipping by young guns Westcastle.
