Last Time Out
The Vikes were in tough out on the road in Saskatchewan for their first two games of the 2016-17 season. Slow starts doomed the Vikes in back-to-back losses to the No. 1 Regina Cougars.
“We need to get back to playing with some energy and confidence. Being at home will help with that,” said Vikes head coach Dani Sinclair.
Calgary is tied for first place in the Canada West conference after opening their season a perfect 2-0.
The Dinos defeated the University of Manitoba by scores of 76-62 and 66-38
By the Numbers
16.5: The number of points Brianna Ghali is scoring per game to lead the Dinos.
10: The Vikes retained their No. 10 ranking in the nation despite starting the season with two losses, a testament to their impressive pre-season.
Dani Sinclair, Vikes head coach
“Getting back to playing good defence will be key. When we had success in the pre-season we were defending well, and we didn’t do that last weekend. Establishing ourselves defensively and getting energy from that end of the floor will help.”
“We typically have confidence when playing at home. We want to develop a level of toughness, so there’s been a focus on playing well on the road. We need to play well on our home court too, and getting off to a good start will be important to us.”
