Upcoming games and special events for the University of Victoria Vikes varsity teams. All times listed below are in Pacific Time. Home events are highlighted in YELLOW.

 

WOMEN’S RUGBY

The Vikes women’s rugby team enter their first weekend of play ranked ninth in the U SPORTS Top-10. The team will face a huge turnover with the loss of senior players Jess Neilson, Tiffany Picketts, Sya Trafford, Julia Folk and Kara Galbraith. The Vikes will look to the leadership of seniors Jamie Beck and Gurpreet Dhaliwal, and the experience of Jennifer Appleby, Chanelle Edwards-Challenger and Paige Farries.

Sunday, Sept. 9: Vikes at UBC (1:00 p.m., Vancouver, B.C.)

MEN’S RUGBY

The Vikes men’s rugby team are currently without nine key players who are representing Canada at the U20 Junior World Rugby Trophy. Head coach Doug Tate’s squad will still begin their BC Rugby Premier League season this weekend hosting the Westshore Valhallians.

Saturday, Sept. 8: Vikes vs Westshore Valhallians (2:30 p.m., Wallace Field)

 

WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Vikes women’s soccer team are 0-1 following a loss to the UBC Thunderbirds last week in the inaugural match of the Legends Cup. The Vikes conceded a goal in the 78th minute but are ready to bounce back for their second week of action. The Vikes will travel to the mainland for games against Trinity Western and Fraser Valley, which will be the first weekend of games for both teams. LIVE STATS | PPV WEBCAST

Friday, Sept. 7: Vikes at Trinity Western (5:00 p.m., Langley, B.C.)

Saturday, Sept. 8: Vikes at Fraser Valley (5:30 p.m., Abbotsford, B.C.)

 

MEN’S SOCCER

Following road losses last weekend to Trinity Western and Fraser Valley, the 0-2 Vikes will need to regroup quickly. A re-scheduled game against UNBC was slotted in to their second week of play to total five games in eight days played. The Vikes will travel to Prince George for the first of their two make-up games following a cancellation in August due to the B.C. wildfire smoke. The Vikes will also host their annual ThunderFest game and home opener against UBC Okanagan, as well as Thompson Rivers the following day. LIVE STATS | PPV WEBCAST

Friday, Sept. 7: Vikes vs UBC Okanagan (6:30 p.m., Centennial Stadium)

Saturday, Sept. 8: Vikes vs Thompson Rivers (7:15 p.m., Centennial Stadium)

MEN’S & WOMEN’S GOLF

The Vikes golf teams will get their season started off early this year as both men’s and women’s teams will travel to Eugene, Oregon to start their season off. This is the first season that golf is introduced in to the Canada West but both teams will also still compete in their NAIA competition. LIVE STATS
