WOMEN’S GOLF

The Vikes women’s golf team will compete at the Western Washington Invitational this week on Oct. 8-9 in Bellingham, WA at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. The Vikes finished in third place at their season opening tournament in Eugene, Ore. on Sept. 10-11. First-year Vike Sukriti Harjai had the top score for Victoria in Eugene, finishing eighth overall with a total score of 160 (77-83). 

Monday/Tuesday Oct. 8-9: Vikes at Western Washington Invitational (Bellingham, WA)

WOMEN’S RUGBY

The Vikes women’s rugby team will play their final regular season game against the Alberta Pandas on Oct. 14 at Wallace Field. Victoria currently sits with a 2-2 record on the season and are coming off a 10-5 victory over the UBC Thunderbirds in a match that counted towards the Canada West standings and the Legends Cup. The Vikes will be looking for a win before heading to Edmonton the following week for the Canada West semi finals hosted by Alberta.

Sunday Oct. 14: Vikes vs. Alberta Pandas (11:30 a.m., Victoria, B.C.)

MEN’S RUGBY

The Vikes men’s rugby team will head north to face the Nanaimo Hornets on Saturday Oct. 13. Victoria is currently 1-2 in the BC Premier League standings, and are coming off a 46-24 loss the Burnaby Lake. The Hornets are winless so far this season but have made a few new additions to their lineup that should give the Vikes a test. 

Saturday Oct. 13: Vikes at Nanaimo Hornets (2:30 p.m., Nanaimo, B.C.)

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Despite coming off a tough loss to the UBC Thunderbirds on Oct. 5 in Vancouver, the Vikes women’s soccer team remains in fourth and final playoff position in the Canada West pacific division. Victoria will head to Saskatchewan this weekend for a set of games against the Regina Cougars and Saskatchewan Huskies on Oct. 13-14. These two games will be pivotal if the Vikes want to clinch a playoff spot.         LIVE STATSPPV WEBCAST

MEN’S SOCCER

The Vikes men’s soccer team suffered a pair of loss’ to the UBC Thunderbird this past week, dropping their win percentage further behind the UNBC Timberwolves who occupy the last playoff spot in the Canada West pacific division. The Vikes will be in tough again this weekend with games against the Trinity Western Spartans and the Fraser Valley Cascades, both teams currently sit in a playoff position in the pacific division.

WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY

The Vikes women’s field hockey team are two wins away from securing a berth in the U SPORTS national championship. The Vikes defeated the UBC Thunderbirds on Oct. 7 by a score of 1-0 after suffering a loss to the same UBC Squad the previous day. Two victories over the Calgary Dinos this weekend and the Vikes will be able to book their tickets to the national final in Ontario in November.

Sunday, Oct. 14: Vikes vs Calgary Dinos (11:00 a.m., Victoria, BC)

 

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Vikes women’s basketball team will hit the road for a pair of preseason games against Concordia and Western this weekend in Ontario. The Vikes begin regular season play in Winnipeg on Oct.26-27 against the Wesmen before returning home for their home opener against the UBC Thunderbirds on Nov. 3 at 6:00pm. 

Saturday, Oct. 13: Vikes at McMaster (12:00 p.m., Hamilton, ON)

Sunday, Oct. 14: Vikes at Western (8:30 a.m., Hamilton, ON)

 

MEN’S BASKETBALL 

The Vikes men’s basketball team will wrap up their preseason schedule when they travel east to take on Concordia, Carleton and Guelph in Ontario. The Vikes begin regular season play on the road against the Winnipeg Wesmen on Oct.26 and will host the UBC Thunderbirds in their first home game on the season on Nov 1. 

Friday, Oct. 12: Vikes at Concordia (2:00 p.m., Ottawa, ON)

Saturday, Oct. 13: Vikes at Carleton (5:00 p.m., Ottawa, ON)

Sunday, Oct. 14: Vikes at Guelph ( 9:00 a.m., Ottawa, ON)

 

ROWING

The Vikes men’s and women’s rowing team kick off their 2018 season schedule at the Western Canadian Rowing Championships this weekend in Leduc, Alberta. The Vikes will be up against other western Canadian universities in test to see who is the fastest of the west.

Saturday/Sunday Oct. 13-14: Vikes at Western Canadian University Rowing Championships (Leduc, AB)

 

CROSS COUNTRY

The Vikes men’s and women’s cross-country teams began their season with matching 10thplace finishes at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 29 in California. The Vikes will host the annual Vikes Invitational this weekend in Victoria at Beacon Hill Park. Races start at 1:00 p.m.
