Upcoming games and special events for the University of Victoria Vikes varsity teams. All times listed below are in Pacific Time.

The Vikes men’s basketball team concluded their regular season schedule this past weekend with a pair of wins of the MacEwan University Griffins. Victoria finishes the Canada West regular season with an even record of 10-10 and will now face the Lethbridge Pronghorns in the single game play in match on Friday Feb.8 in Alberta. The Pronghorns swept the season series between the two sides just a few weeks ago defeating the Vikes by scores of 84-65 and 82-66. However, Victoria will come into this do or die game on a four game win-streak after knocking off the UBC Okanagan Heat and the Griffins back-to-back weekends.

Friday, Feb. 8: Vikes at Lethbridge Pronghorns (7:00 p.m. Lethbridge, Alta.)

The Vikes women’s basketball team finished their Canada West regular season campaign with a 12-8 record to finish at the seventh seed heading into the playoffs. Last weekend, Amira Giannattasio led the Vikes to two decisive victories over the MacEwan Griffins, beating the visitors by scores of 59-50 and 87-58. Victoria will now host the Fraser Valley Cascades in the first round of the Canada West playoffs. The single game play in match will be played in the CARSA Performance Gym Friday, Feb.8 with tip off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Vikes and Cascades have met three times this season, UVic winning two of the three games.

Friday, Feb. 8: Vikes vs Fraser Valley Cascades (7:00 p.m. Victoria, B.C.)

The Vikes men and women’s track team will travel to Kamloops this weekend for the Gary Reed Open. This is the final competition scheduled for the two teams ahead of the Canada West and U SPORTS Championships in late February and early March. The two travelled to Winnipeg this past weekend for the Bison Classic where the Vikes saw five top three finishes from their athletes highlights by Josh Kozelj who finished first in the men’s 3000m race.

Friday/Saturday, Feb. 8-9: Vikes at Gary Reed Open (Kamloops, B.C.)

The Vikes swimming teams will host the Western Collegiate Invitational this weekend at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool. The Vikes will welcome UBC, Simon Fraser and the University of Regina to the island for one of the last opportunities athletes have to qualify for the U SPORTS National championships at end of February.

Saturday/Sunday, Feb.9-10: Vikes host Western Collegiate Invitational (Victoria, B.C.)
