Victoria trades signed prospect Zach Russell to Brandon

The Victoria Royals today announced that the club has acquired a sixth round draft pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for 1999-born forward Zach Russell.

Russell was signed by the Royals to a WHL Standard Player Agreement in August 2015.

A native of Calgary, AB, Russell currently plays for the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League). In 19 games for the Canucks, the 6-0, 185 lb forward has collected 11 points (6g-5a) to go along with 45 penalty minutes.

The Royals will continue their franchise high eight-game homestand with a weekend series against the Tri-City Americans on Friday and Saturday night.
