The Victoria Shamrocks lost last night on the road to the Burnaby Lakers by the score of 12-10, which made the Western Lacrosse Association standings even tighter than they already were.

The Shamrocks now have three games in hand over the first place New Westminster Salmonbellies and second place Maple Ridge Burrards. They sit in third place with 18 points. The Burrards have 19 points while the Salmonbellies lead with 24.

The Shamrocks had won three consecutive games.

The Shamrocks were experiencing travel issues and therefore delayed the game by approximately one hour.
Jeff Shattler and Rhys Duch both earned hat-tricks; Shattler added four assists for a seven point night. Myles Kenny, Corey Small, Ben McCullough and Jon Harnett each had a goal.

The Lakers’ Robert Church earned a hat-trick and three helpers for the Lakers.

Cody Hagedorn started the game for the Shamrocks and was pulled mid-day through the game in favour of Adam Shute, who has been hot since the Shamrocks acquired him last month. Zak Boychuck earned the win on a 29 save night from 39 Shamrocks shots.

The Shamrocks next play Wednesday, July 27th in Langley, before returning home to take on the Burnaby Lakers on Friday, July 29th at The Q Centre.
