Victoria Royals launches Canadian Forces Appreciation Month
The Victoria Royals are proud to announce that they will honour the Canadian Forces during November with multiple initiatives taking place throughout the month.
Events & Initiatives
- Remembrance Day game vs. the Tri-City Americans on Friday, November 11th.
o Any Canadian Forces member that shows their military ID prior to Remembrance Day will receive a free ticket for the November 11th home game.
- Canadian Forces Appreciation Night will be held against the Regina Pats on Saturday, November 19th.
o 2,500 Royals’ military dog tags will be given away prior to puck drop.
- Tickets to all other November home games are available at a special rate of $15 with a valid military ID.
- The Royals will be wearing special commemorative military jerseys for both the November 11th and 19th games.
- The Royals Team Store will be offering 10% off to all military members (with valid ID) for the month of November.
- The annual Victoria Royals and Department of National Defense (DND) Hockey Challenge will take place on Tuesday, November 8th at Wurtele Arena.
November 11th Remembrance Day Game
The Royals will honour the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans on Remembrance Day in a game vs. the Tri-City Americans. A colour party will accompany the anthem performer during O Canada. Members of the armed forces who show valid ID prior to November 11th will receive a free ticket to the contest.
November 19th Canadian Forces Appreciation Night
The Royals will play the Regina Pats on Canadian Forces Appreciation Night. Military vehicles and equipment will be on display around the concourse at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre throughout the game.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. the first 2,500 fans that enter the arena through Gate 1 will receive a Royals’ military dog tag. Royals’ Ticket Pack Holders will have first access to receive the dog tags from 6:00-6:30 p.m. Proceeds from 50/50 and Chuck-A-Puck will support the Military Family Resource Centre and the Canadian Cadets Organizations respectively.
During the month of November, tickets for the nine Royals’ home games will be available for a special rate of $15 for any Canadian Forces personnel with a valid military ID. Starting on Tuesday, November 1st, tickets, limited to four per purchase, can be bought in person at the Select Your Tickets Box Office, over the phone by calling 250-220-7889 or by visitingwww.selectyourtickets.com.
Fans with a valid a military ID will also receive 10% of any purchase at the Royals Team Store during the month of November.
Commemorative Canadian Forces Jerseys
Victoria will wear new special commemorative military jerseys in honour of the Canadian Forces and Veterans for both the November 11th and 19th contests. The jerseys will feature the Canadian Forces logo and will be available in a live jersey auction at the end of the November 19th contest. The jerseys will also be available throughout the season via a silent auction. Proceeds will support the Military Family Resource Centre and Victoria Royals Education & Scholarship Fund.
Victoria Royals & Department of National Defense Hockey Challenge
For the sixth consecutive year the Royals will be taking part in the Department of National Defense (DND) Hockey Challenge on Tuesday, November 8th at Wurtele Arena. The annual contest, in support of the United Way, will see the Royals and members of the DND split into two teams and play in an exhibition game against each other.
