The Victoria Royals allowed two goals in the final period in a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Giants on Wednesday night at the Pacific Coliseum.

The Giants’ Brennan Menell tied the game, before Chase Lang tallied the game winner in the third period. The Royals received markers from Jordan Wharrie, Ralph Jarratt, and Regan Nagy. Wharrie’s goal was his first in a Royals’ uniform. Vancouver’s other markers were notched by Owen Hardy and Carter Popoff.

Victoria netminder Coleman Vollrath got the nod in net and made 23 saves on 27 shots. Vancouver started Ryan Kubic in goal and he stopped 26 of the 29 pucks directed his way.

The Royals went 1/5=20.0% on the powerplay, while the Giants were 0/3=0.0%.
