The Victoria Royals’ Vladimir Bobylev scored the game winner late in the third period as the club downed the Everett Silvertips 4-3 to even the best-of-seven series 1-1.

Victoria’s Bobylev broke a 3-3 tie when he wristed the puck short-side on Everett netminder Carter Hart with less than five minutes in regulation. Tyler Soy rifled his second of the night and franchise record-setting 14th career playoff marker past Hart on a beautiful pass from Dante Hannoun. Soy’s first goal of the contest came early in the second period. The remaining tally was scored by Matthew Phillips in the opening frame.

The Silvertips recorded a marker in each period as Brandson Hein scored to knot the game at 3-3 mid-way through the third period, while Matt Fonteyne and Patrick Bajkov tallied markers of their own in the first and second stanzas respectively.

With an assist on Soy’s first tally, Walker set the new franchise mark for most playoff assists at 18 in his 38th career post-season contest. The record was previously set by alumnus Brandon Magee who took part in 27 playoff games from 2011-2015.

Royals’ goaltender Griffen Outhouse got the nod in net and stopped 18 of the 21 shots he faced. The Silvertips’ Hart turned aside 26 of the 30 pucks fired at him.

Both clubs went 2/3=66.7% on the man-advantage.
