The Victoria Royals fell 5-2 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre.

The Hurricanes’ Brayden Burke registered the game winner, while Giorgio Estephan and Egor Babenko each tallied two goals on the night.

The Royals’ opening goal was scored in the first period when Matthew Phillips fed Jack Walker with a stretch pass. Walker would deke out Lethbridge netminder Stuart Skinner and beat him glove side with a backhand shot. Jared Dmytriw rounded out the scoring late in the third period.

Victoria’s Griffen Outhouse stopped 19 of the 23 pucks he faced. Dylan Myskiw entered the game in relief for the Royals mid-way through the final frame and made three saves on four shots. The Hurricanes’ Skinner turned aside 36 of the 38 shots directed his way.

The Royals were unable to score on the powerplay and went 0/3=0.0%, while Lethbridge went 1/3=33.3% with the man-advantage.

Last night saw Victoria earn a 5-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers to kick off their Eastern Conference swing.

Victoria wraps up their season long six-game road trip on Friday night when they take on the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place with puck drop slated for 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

The Royals return to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday, October 18th to begin a three-game homestand against the Saskatoon Blades.
