Goto was involved in the J-League system prior to his arrival in Canada and will take the field as a defender with the Highlanders.
Fellow Japan native Yuichiro Hayami is a six-foot-three goalkeeper from Japan who play’s at Iowa Western of the NJCAA for the Conference Champion Reivers. Hayami was named to the Region XI All-Tournament and Academic All-Region following the 2016 varsity season.
“All three players come highly recommended and we are confident that they will be three important pieces for us this upcoming season,” Highlanders FC head coach Dave Dew stated. “All three bring something unique to our roster and we are very excited to have them join our club. Our goal is to raise the standard of play every year and these players fit that bill.”
