Despite it being a very busy Father’s Day that included Car Free Day in downtown, which hosted tens of thousands of people on foot as well as the 28th annual Victoria Track Classic at the University of Victoria, 2,584 people made it to the HarbourCats and Cowlitz Black Bears game at Royal Athletic Park.
The HarbourCats won their eighth consecutive home game and have now won eleven consecutive games. The streak includes four consecutive series sweeps.
They started the season 0-3.
The win streak is a franchise record. The next record to attain is 14 consecutive wins, which is the West Coast League record, set by Wenatchee back in 2011.
The HarbourCats today defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears by the score of 6-0, to close out their series.
On the mound was Will McAffer who started his second game this season, winning both, this time throwing a two-hitter.
McAffer got run support from Jake Stone who had three hits, an RBI and had two runs score.
The HarbourCats next host the Kitsap Blue Jackets on Friday night in game one of a three-game set.
