The Victoria HarbourCats continue to win, now extending their streak to a franchise record 12 consecutive games, but tonight’s win against the Kitsap BlueJackets didn’t come easy. They won 6-5.

The West Coast League all-time record is 14 consecutive wins, which was set in 2011 by the Wenatchee AppleSox.

The HarbourCats are now 12-3. They started the season 0-3.

Pitcher Austin Dondanville started for the HarbourCats, going 6 and 1/3 innings having given up no hits. He surrendered two in the seventh inning.

Two, two-run hits, a single and a homer in the second and sixth innings, respectively, gave the HarbourCats a 4-0 lead. Brad Pluschkell made it 5-0, before the BlueJackets started the comeback.

The HarbourCats sit atop not only the North Division, but the entire league with a win percentage of an even .800. The Corvalis Knights are in second overall and first in the South Division with a record of 11-7 and a .611 win percentage, it’s not even close.

The three-game set continues Saturday night at Royal Athletic Park. Will McAffer will start the game. He was the league Pitcher of the Week last week.
