The Victoria Royals were downed 5-4 by the Kelowna Rockets in an afternoon contest on Family Day as Matthew Phillips set the Royals’ single season points record and extended his franchise-long point streak.

The franchise record is held by former Chilliwack Bruin Mark Santorelli who played in 72 contests in 2007-08 and tallied 101 points (27g-74a).

Red Hot Royals – Multiple Royals’ skaters stretched their point streaks today. Phillips set the new franchise record for longest point streak at 18 games and has registered a total of 34 points (14g-20a). Tyler Soy, who was named the WHL Player of the Week today, has tallied 13 points (6g-7a) in his last six contests.
