The Victoria Cougars, who own a record of 16-4-1-0 will host the Kerry Park Islanders (10-11-1-0) for the second time this week on Thursday, November 19th.

Currently the Cougars are on a hot streak with six-consecutive wins. Their latest game against the Islanders was a rout, taking the game 8-0 last Thursday.

The Cougars have a season record against the Islanders of 4-0 shutting them out three consecutive times in the process.

Three different Cougar goalies have had shutouts for the Cougars against the Islanders, they Gregory Maggio, Anthony Ciurro and Sean Wendlandt, who is no longer with the team due to injury.

Six different goal scorers tallied for the Cougars in that 8-0 win, including two each from Kameron Fink and Nathan Looysen, while single the other four goals were scored by Dom Kolbeins, Cody Hodges, Ryan Vorster, and Nico Somerville.

The two best goalies in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League happen to play for the Cougars in Ciurro and Maggio. While Ciurro leads the league with four shutouts and owns a record of 10-2-1-0 and he also has a 1.64 goals against average and .935 save percentage. Maggio stats are: 4-1-0-0 won-loss record, plus a 1.61 Goals against average and .932 save percentage.
