Victoria City Rowing Club sends athletes to national championships
The Victoria City Rowing Club is proud to announce that 12 club athletes, as well as 10 alumni, will compete at the 2017 Rowing Canada Aviron National Rowing Championships this weekend.
The National Rowing Championships run from Thursday, November 9th to Saturday, November 11th at Burnaby Lake in Burnaby, BC. The regatta consists of 22 events and will see athletes competing in either single sculls (1x) or pairs (2-). The championships conclude with the Canada Cup on Sunday, November 12th.

VCRC athletes Ivy Elling Quaintance, Antonia Frappell, Emma Gribbon, Tai Kilpatrick, Karoline Mikolajewski, Andrea Proske, Spencer Thomas, Patricia Mara, Danae McCulloch, and Scott MacDonald will all compete this weekend representing Team BC. Michelle Truax and Roxanne Dehghan meanwhile, will represent Team Ontario. Elling Quaintance and Gribbon both currently row with Washington State University, while Frappell is a member of the University of Iowa.
In addition to current VCRC members, 10 club alumni were also named to Team BC. Piper Battersby, Idjen Cabral, Morgan Cathrea, Maxine Chapman, Adam Donaldson, Isaac Donaldson, Caileigh Filmer, Patrick Keane and Jessica Stewart all currently row for the University of Victoria, while Brendan Wall is a member of the University of British Columbia.
