The Victoria City Rowing Club is pleased to announce the return of the Community Corporate Rowing Challenge. During the program, teams will be encouraged to fundraise throughout the community, with proceeds benefiting KidSport Victoria.
Registration is available now for Novice quads (4xs) and eights (8+s), as well as Experienced quads (4xs) and eights (8+s). No experience is needed to participate. However, a novice crew must have 75% of its crew new to the sport.
Teams who register before Sunday, March 12th can take advantage of the Early Bird Pricing to save up to $100 off the cost of each crew. Early Bird cost is $1,120 for a quad and $1,900 for an eight, not including taxes.
It is recommended that quad crews are made of at least five people, or at least 10 people for eight crews, to allow for an absence during practices. A gender balance on crews is encouraged, however not mandatory.
This program offers participants a great opportunity to engage in communication, innovation, creativity as well as working together as part of a team.
Teams will be given 14 practices with certified coaches, beginning on Monday, April 16th, and will race at the City Championships on Saturday, June 2nd. In addition, participants will also receive Rowing Canada Aviron membership fees (up to six registered members for a quad and 10 members for an eight), a barbeque lunch at the regattas, and prizes.
