"We came in ranked seventh in the nation and we finished seventh so we can't be disappointed with that," said Vikes head coach Brent Fougner. "All of our guys are back again, we are already excited about next year and the prospect of moving up through the rankings."

The Vikes just edged the Trinity Western Spartans for second place in the conference, finishing the race with 175 points to the Spartans 177. The Calgary Dinos claimed the conference title with a dominating performance that saw them record 76 points and second place in Canada.

Brandon Vail led the way for the Vikes and the first-year athlete from Edmonton was named both a Canada West First Team All-Star and the Canada West Rookie of the Year for his outstanding time of 32:01 in the 10-kilometre race.

Ben Weir and Josh Kozelj both earned the honour of being Canada West Second Team All-Stars after they finished in 25th and 36th respectively.

Derrick Evans and Jonny Toombs rounded out the scoring for the Vikes, with their times of 32:32 and 32:38 slotting them in 43rd and 51st overall.
