Victoria celebrated the Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope today in the 35th annual event that over the years has raised thousands of dollars in Victoria, and millions across the country. The Victoria event was held at Mile 0 – under the watchful eye of Terry himself with well-wishers scrambling to get a picture in front of Terry’s statue before the event started.

The course was an out-and- back 5 km route (or out-and-back twice for the 10 km) from Beacon Hill Park to St Charles on Dallas Rd. The gloomy, rainy conditions didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the participants many of whom came dressed in their favourite Terry Fox shirts and carrying Canadian flags.

Race Director Doug Lamb was very pleased with the turnout thanking the many volunteers who helped put the event together.
