If it wasn’t for the powerplay, the Comox Valley Glacier Kings would have been frozen out by the Campbell River Storm. The young Glacier Kings picked up two goals on the man advantage to avoid being shutout but lost 7-2.

The Storm blasted the Glacier Kings on the shot clock by the margin of 45-10.

The Storm got up 5-0 before the Glacier Kings’ Shaun Ropcean scored from Jacob Murray and Cianan Briscoe at 3:28 of the third period.

Noah Fladagar opened the scoring at 5:00 minutes of the first period, then Josh Pederson, Scott Rademaker, with the winner, Darren Hards and Owen Christensen each scored.

Rademaker would get his second of the game at 8:36 of the third and Damon Kramer would score the Storms’ seventh goal of the game at 17:40 on the powerplay.

Briscoe would get his second point of the game at 16:26 of the third on the powerplay scoring the Glacier Kings’ second goal.

While the Storm would demonstrate balanced team scoring with six different goal scorers, Scott Rademaker would lead the team with 2 Goals and 1 Assist for 3 Points. Hards would also pick up three points.

Briscoe would lead the Glacier Kings with his two points.

Joben Douce played the full 60 minutes taking the loss with his 38-save performance. While Jaden Little had little work in facing 10 shots from the Glacier Kings.

Both powerplays went 2/4.

The first-place Storm next play on Monday when they host the unpredictable Westshore Wolves at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
