Jason Sperling, Victoria Shamrocks
With the greenest day of the year coming up this month, we would like to remind the community of our annual Shamrocks St. Paddy’s Day Shoot Around on Sunday.
Families are invited down for our annual St. Paddy’s events on Sunday March 13th from 12-4 at the Victoria – Esquimalt Lacrosse box on 527 Fraser Street (south of the Esquimalt rec centre). Your Victoria Shamrocks will be joined by players from the Jr. and Intermediate Shamrocks and Rocky the Racoon shooting the lacrosse ball with kids and taking pictures with Canada’s oldest trophy, the Mann Cup. Kids are recommended to bring their helmets and lacrosse sticks to participate.
Country Grocer and Grimm’s meats are providing the smokies and salads along with chef Michael Williams doing the cooking with donations going to our alumni scholarship fund.
There will be a distracted walking obstacle course provided by ICBC and the Victoria Police, informing the community of safety behind the wheel.
There will also be a bouncy pirate ship and face painting for those that just want to come out and experience the lacrosse atmosphere.
This free event is a great opportunity for families to grab a snack, meet their Victoria Shamrocks and for kids to get in the box and shoot around with the team. The Victoria Shamrocks are committed to our community and this is another way to thank our fans that support us all season.
