James Vince, Gavin Grewal, and Oliver Hahn with his second goal of the game all scored late in the third period as the Saanich Braves came from behind to beat the Victoria Cougars 5-3 on Friday the 13th.

Also scoring for Saanich was Zach Guerra.

Getting the start in net and picking up his third win of the season was Riley Mathieson who made 31 saves.

The shorthanded Braves were missing Michael Sproule and Dale McCabe; their two leading scorers.

Zefan Pighin, Alexander Benger, and Mateo Albinati replied for Victoria.  Patrick Ostermann took the loss after stopping 26-of-30 shots.

After Albinati gave the Cougars a one-goal lead at 1:09 of the third period, Saanich went on to score three times in the final three minutes of play.

Hahn added an empty-netter with 14.3 seconds remaining in regulation.

Victoria finished 1-for-12 with the man advantage; meanwhile, the Braves went 0-for-13.

Elsewhere in the VIJHL:  Westshore Wolves 3, Campbell River Storm 2.  Kerry Park Islanders 4, Peninsula Panthers 0.  Oceanside Generals 4, Comox Valley Glacier Kings 3.

Next game for Victoria is Thursday, October 19 versus the Peninsula Panthers.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
