The Victoria Royals are proud to announce that the team has signed 1997-born forward Ethan Price to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.

Price was listed to the Royals’ 50-man protected player list earlier this year. Each WHL team is allowed to protect 50 players which includes individuals who have either been signed, drafted or listed by their respective club.

“Ethan is a strong and skilled two-way player who has experience in the WHL,” General Manager Cameron Hope said. “We are pleased to have him join the Royals’ family.”

The product of Lincoln, NE spent the 2014-15 campaign with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL and the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL). In 38 contests with the Winterhawks, Price recorded four goals and five assists to go along with 16 minutes in penalties. Price also notched nine points (3g-6a) and 39 penalty minutes in 30 games with the Stars.

The 5’10, 180 lb Price was selected by Portland in the sixth round, 130th overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. In two seasons with the Winterhawks, Price tallied 17 points (8g-9a) and 46 minutes in penalties over 105 contests.
