Victoria Royals’ forward D-Jay Jerome tallied a hat-trick and added a pair of assists as the club exploded for seven goals to defeat the Everett Silvertips 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals once again went with a mixture of youth and experience in their line-up as they dressed 10 rookies and 10 veterans. Meanwhile the Silvertips went with six rookies and 12 veterans.

Scoring Leader: With five points in tonight’s game forward D-jay Jerome now leads the WHL in pre-season scoring with nine points (5g-4a) in four games.

Perfect Debut: Royals’ 20-year-old goaltender Griffen Outhouse played in his first pre-season game of the year and turned aside all 22 shots he faced in 40 minutes of action.

Scratches: Victoria sat out veterans Igor Martynov, Dino Kambeitz, Dean McNabb, Tarun Fizer and rookies Brock Gould and Nolan Bentham.
