The Victoria Royals played three games in less than three days. They won the first two, but lost the third. Friday, they played the Everett Silvertips and soundly defeated them by the score of 5-0. Goaltender Griffen Outhouse was brilliant in net facing 38 shots.

Saturday, they travelled to Kamloops and took on the Blazers and won in a dramatic, come-from-behind fashion, with Captain Matthew Phillips leading the way with three points, while hulking defenceman Chaz Reddekopp scored the winner in overtime.

The first two games started at 7:05 pm, while the third started at 4:05 pm on Sunday in Everett, which means the Royals had played three games in less than three full days – a rare occurrence at any level. Even rarer, Everett too, had played three-in-three.

Dean McNabb started game three in goal for the Royals and faced 18 shots during the first period. He was pulled in favour of Outhouse at 14:12 of the second. The Silvertips had thrown a torrid 25 more shots on the Royals goal during the second period and a three period total of 59.

The Royals got into penalty trouble, giving up a total of nine powerplay opportunities to the Silvertips, who capitalized five times.

The Royals went 2/6 on the man advantage and took 34 shots of their own at Dustin Wolf.

Tyler Soy tied the franchise record for most career assists with his 151st in his 295th WHL game. The record was set by former Chilliwack Bruin and Victoria alumnus Brandon Magee who registered 151 in 318 games.

The Victoria Royals dropped a 9-4 decision to the Everett Silvertips on Sunday at the Angel of the Winds Arena.
