Royals blanked by Seattle Thunderbirds
The Victoria Royals were defeated 5-0 by the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday night at the ShoWare Center.
The Thunderbirds received a four-point night (1g-3a) from Mathew Barzal, while Ethan Bear recorded the game winner. Seattle’s other goals were tallied by Ryan Gropp, Jarret Tyszka, and Sami Moilanen.
Royals’ goaltender Griffen Outhouse started the contest and stopped 10 of the 13 shots fired his way, before he was relieved by Dylan Myskiw who turned aside 20 of the 22 pucks he faced. Thunderbirds’ goalie Matt Berlin recorded a 19-save shutout.
Victoria held a 0/4=0.0% mark on the man-advantage, while Seattle went 2/3=66.7% on the powerplay.
