The Victoria Royals are proud to announce that alumnus Jamie Crooks is the Canada West WHL Grad of the Month for October.

The native of Vermillion, AB plays for the University of Alberta Golden Bears, who compete in the Canada West Conference of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). Crooks has recorded 11 points (7g-4a) in the team’s first six games of the season to lead the Canada West in scoring.

Crooks, who is studying Physical Education and Recreation, is in his fourth season at the University of Alberta. In 83 career games with the Golden Bears, Crooks has tallied 70 points (39g-31a).  Crooks also helped his team capture back-to-back University Cups and Canada West Titles in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The 5-11, 190 lb forward was named the Royals’ 2011-12 Most Valuable Player and recorded 193 points (110g-83a) in his five-year career with the franchise (2009-2013).
