Rowing Canada Announce Nominations Open for Hall of Fame
Following this summer’s celebration of the Canadian Rowing Hall of Fame’s inaugural class at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) has announced the launch of the Hall’s online platform which will allow the users to view inductees as well as submit nominations.
With the launch of the website, nominations are now being accepted for the Class of 2017. RCA is also seeking expressions of interest for eligible candidates to participate in the Canadian Rowing Hall of Fame (CRHF) committee.
The announcement of the Hall of Fame occurred in early July. It was established to recognize outstanding athletes, coaches and builders who are responsible for the country’s continued excellence in rowing, both nationally and internationally. The inaugural CRHF class was nominated by a foundational committee, whose mandate included recommending and discussing policy, assisting with the establishment of the official terms of reference and nominating candidates.
RCA would like to thank the inaugural committee for their work in establishing the CHRF, and is now looking for volunteers to assist in continuing to honour the great achievements by Canadians in rowing and those whose dedicated efforts have greatly benefited the sport in Canada and abroad. Those interested are asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with “CRHF Committee Expression of Interest” in the subject line.
Once finalized, the CRHF committee will review all eligible nominations and announce the 2017 inductee class in April 2017. All nominations must be received by January 30th, 2017 in order to be considered by the committee.
