PISE’s mandate of providing opportunities for youth to excel in sport is being enhanced by two performance training scholarship opportunities, made available by the generous support of sponsors and donors. Applications for the Dr. Liz Ashton Training Scholarships and the Island Savings Fuelling Youth Performance Scholarships are now being accepted – both have a deadline of March 31, 2018.
The multiple scholarship awards valued at $500 from Dr. Liz Ashton, and $1,000 from Island Savings, a division of First West Credit Union, are now available to youth athletes who have excelled in their sport, demonstrated positive leadership and sportsmanship, maintained a positive academic performance and are interested in taking their sport performance to the next level.
Dr. Liz Ashton was a driving force in establishing PISE in 2008. With a passion for academics and sport excellence, she served as President of Camosun College, and has represented Canada on the world stage in Olympic and International events in Equestrian Sport. She is also the recipient of the Governor General Caring Canadian Award (2014).
Island Savings continues to be a strong supporter of PISE in developing youth opportunities, and is proud to sponsor Fuelling Youth Performance initiatives which support skill development and building self-confidence in youths 13 – 18.
“PISE plays a key role in our community helping develop athletes and future sport leaders,” says Stacey Lund, Business Development Manager at PISE. “We are very grateful to Island Savings and Liz Ashton for their generosity in helping support youth in their training at PISE.”
These awards will be provided in the form of a credit towards strength and conditioning services with PISE’s Performance Training Coaches. Further information and applications are online at: www.pise.ca/scholarship-opportunities
