The Pacific Cycling Centre will host its third winter training camp of the 2016-2017 season from January 19-22, 2017. The camp will focus on endurance, strength, core stability, flexibility and balance. The group rides aim to improve endurance and boost aerobic capacity for both road race and short distance track cyclists. Cyclists of all abilities are welcome at the camp which will be based at the PISE offices at Commonwealth Pool,
The four-day camp will feature daily endurance rides including a fitness assessment ride with a hill climb and ITT, a climbing day, focusing on climbing and descending techniques, and an endurance ride to include cycling techniques and tactics, leg speed and short sprints. A strength and conditioning/core session lead by personal trainer Hilary Wille, and a training presentation by head coach Houshang Amiri will also be part of the camp.
Cyclists will be observed by the coaching staff, who will give feedback and assist with their 2017 training plans.
To accompany the camp, PCC is offering services such as Power Meter analysis, dynamic bike positioning, MAP and lactate profiling for an additional fee.
