Josh Reaume

Victoria NASCAR driver Josh Reaume is getting set to make his fourth straight start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this weekend at Kentucky Speedway.

The Buckle Up 225 is set for a Friday evening start and Reaume will once again be piloting the Mark Beaver Motorsports owned Chevrolet Silverado. Kentucky’s high-banked 1.5-mile oval is a good track for Reaume’s driving style, very similar to Iowa Speedway where two weeks ago he finished a career-high 18th place.

His finishes this year have been a climb in progress, from Texas Speedway where he finished in 28th place, then on to Gateway Motorsport’s Park where a 19th placing was accomplished, this weekend could be a top 15 finish.

Bill Okell

Fresh off his Sports Car Club of America’s Western Conference Championship, two weeks ago driving the Huffaker Engineering’s Austin Healey, Bill Okell hopped into his own MGB race car and headed south this past weekend for a pair of NASPORT Lite Series races at San Francisco’s Sonoma Raceway, five short days after hosting the SaveMart Foods 500, NASCAR Monster Energy Series race.

The 2.5-mile, 13-turn, mountainside road course is a favourite for Okell as he holds the track record for the NASPORT Lite Series. This weekend’s racing would not put the record in jeopardy as Okell won both races, but consistent brake problems would slow the lap times down. The brake issues have been a problem over the last year or so and will really need to be addressed soon so that the lap time consistency will return back to the record pace that he is used to. Okell’s next race will hopefully be at Mission’s Rivers Edge Road Course in mid-August for a Historic/vintage racing weekend, a place where he will need the brakes working at a high capacity.

The calendar will be full for him in late September as he has qualified and will compete in the SCCA’s National Sports Car Championship at Speedway, Indiana’s, Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Grand Prix road course. He will race in the F-Production race and the Grand Touring Lite race on Friday September 29th and Saturday , October 1st, 2017. border=
