Layritz Little League has won the rights to host the Canadian Little League Baseball Championship. Layritz will host to the event in the summer of 2020. The last time that the championships were held in Victoria was 25 years ago in the summer of 1991.

Little League BC determined that the championships should be held in Victoria and a Layritz’ committee, which included Dave Potter, Shannon Nakatsu, Ken Jones, Troy Dunning and Steve Haines put together the successful bid.

Layritz is holding a meeting on Sunday at Saanich Commonwealth Place and will plan the details for the event, including the marketing plan.

The 2017 and 2018 Canadian Little League championship are scheduled to take place in Medicine Hat, and Regina, respectively.
