The 2018 Premier Development League (PDL) season is in full swing and Victoria Highlanders FC are pleased to announce the addition of local businessmen Marc Morrison, Trevor Stiles, and Bruce Cafferky to the club’s current ownership group. The trio joins an ownership group that includes local businessmen Brett Large, Mark deFrias, Moreno Stefani, Grant Olson, and Ryan Wilson.

Morrison owns and operates a small French Bistro in downtown Victoria, Brasserie L’Ecole.

“I’m a massive soccer fan and loved the idea of being a part of the Highlanders and this new group of owners,” commented Morrison. “We have the right people involved to make a real impact and help grow this club in our community, so it’s exciting times ahead.”

Stiles joins the Highlanders ownership group with a foothold in the soccer community as the Founder and CEO of Aviata Sports, an equipment company that specializes in soccer goalkeeper equipment. Stiles also is the director of Keeper Culture in Victoria, which runs goalkeeper specific academies and camps along with other soccer training.

“After playing for the Highlanders, I have always wanted to see the team thrive in Victoria,” commented Stiles. “It is a wonderful club for the community and even more so a wonderful opportunity for local youth players to achieve success and to use their experience with our club as a stepping stone to play at the top level.”

Cafferky works in the investment industry with RBC Dominion Securities and is a father of two boys 16 and 14 years old. Cafferky joins the Highlanders ownership group having played soccer most of his life and coaching and managing his son’s and his men’s team at local club Gorge FC.

“I love the game and I wanted to be a part of providing a pathway for the kids to support a high-quality local team that allows them to aspire to play at the highest possible level,” commented Cafferky. “I love the idea of creating a sustainable and winning soccer culture here in Victoria and I was excited to be a part of the current ownership group to bring that experience to Victoria.”
