HarbourCats sign three and throw a Christmas Party

The Victoria HarbourCats have added depth to their outfield for the 2017 West Coast League season, signing Will LaRue and Riley Pletcher from Xavier University (NCAA Div. 1; Big East) in addition to right-handed pitcher Matt Kent.

Will LaRue is an exciting talent who brings electrifying speed to the outfield and on the base paths.
LaRue started 60 games as a sophomore in 2016, hitting .253 with nine doubles and 22 RBIs, adding one triple and a home run. He ranked 13th in NCAA Div. 1 baseball with 31 stolen bases in 36 attempts.
Riley Pletcher is a highly regarded freshman outfielder who has an opportunity to earn a significant role with the Musketeers.
Pletcher was a career .323 hitter at Puyallup High School with 11 doubles, three triples and 35 RBIs. He also maintained a .492 on-base percentage.
Matt Kent is an imposing presence on the mound, standing 6’6’’, 185 lbs who earned a major role on the Musketeers pitching staff as a freshman.
Kent made 13 appearances in 2016 including eight starts, posting a 2-1 record and working to a 3.20 ERA, which was third-best on the team. He recorded 27 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched while allowing just 37 hits.

Thursday, December 1 from 12:00 – 8:00 PM at the team office (1814 Vancouver Street), the HarbourCats will be throwing a Christmas Party with a wide range of exciting offers on tickets and merchandise as well as door prizes and draws.
The team will also officially launch single-game ticket sales for the 2017 season at the event. Starting on this date, tickets for all 27 regular season home games plus three non-league games will be on sale. At this time and going forward, tickets will be available in-person, over the phone (778-265-0327) and online.
“Those who have been patient as we finished the scheduling process and had everything set up with Ticket Rocket, can come in now and get the seats they want for the games they want,” said Brittany French, Assistant General Manager and Ticketing Manager for the HarbourCats. “It’s always great to see our fans, people we get to know so well during the summer, and see their smiling faces in the off-season, when we’re busy planning for our fifth season. This special event is actually more of an excuse for us to see our friends again! This will be a fun day for us all.”
Tickets to the HarbourCats ‘Christmas in July’ game vs. the Kelowna Falcons on July 25 will be available for $5 on this one day only. (Only available in-person at the office on December 1.)
Fans can make it a ‘white Christmas’ by purchasing a HarbourCats game-worn white (home) jersey. Jerseys are available purchase now at the team office and will have a special deal applied to them on December 1 only.
Select merchandise will be available for up to 75%-off.
Fans will be invited to spin the wheel in the office for a chance to win a variety of prizes including an autographed Blue Jays jersey (limited quantities).
Draws will take place including draws for a Christmas tree from Anawim House as well as a BC Lions package consisting of four (4) tickets to a game in 2017, on-field passes and a bobblehead.
Fans can pick up a Christmas tree from Anawim House, located a short walk from the HarbourCats office (973 Caledonia Avenue).
There will be door prizes and light refreshments for all in attendance.

2017 SEATTLE VACATION
The HarbourCats are staging their second consecutive fan vacation to Seattle in 2017 to see the Blue Jays take on the Mariners.
The 2017 vacation takes place June 9-11, 2017 and will include:
Travel on Wilson’s Transportation buses from to and from Victoria and Seattle. Ferry cost also included.
Field level tickets for all three Blue Jays @ Mariners games at Safeco Field.
Two nights at the Hilton Embassy Lynnwood.
Total cost is $798 per person (based on double occupancy). Different rates available for triple as well as single occupancy.
Registration for HarbourCats season ticket holders is $725 (based on double occupancy). The trip is not expected to interfere with the HarbourCats home schedule, as the team is expected to be on the road during this time.
