Slan Sports Management announced today that Grant Sitton has re-signed with BC Prievidza in the Slovakian Extraliga (SBL) for the 2018-19 season.

Sitton, a 6’9” forward, is coming off a strong rookie season with Prievidza, averaging 14.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 27.9 minutes per game, while shooting an impressive 43.1% from three-point range on 225 attempts. His performance helped Prievidza to a 25-11 record and a third-place regular season finish.

In his senior collegiate season in 2016-17, Sitton, a Brush Prairie, Washington native, was the third leading scorer in the CanWest Conference and 11th leading scorer in U Sports, averaging 19.3 points per game for the University of Victoria. He also notched 6.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Sitton was named to the All-Canada West Third Team for his efforts. In 2015-16, Sitton averaged 14.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. In 2014-15, he helped lead the Vikes to the CanWest championship and the semi finals of the CIS Final 8 Tournament.

“I am excited to continue building from last season,” said Sitton. “The coaching staff and management are a good fit for me and I believe they will continue to help me improve my game.”

Prievidza is excited to have Sitton back in the lineup for another season and sees him as a major piece for the club moving forward.

“Grant was a key player for us to re-sign for this upcoming season. He fits exactly what we are looking for as a person, teammate and player,” said Prievidza Head Coach, Ryan Pannone. “I really believe in his talent and I believe he will develop into a high-level player in Europe. Our plan is to play and develop him more as a 3 next season and play him similar to a Kyle Korver type of player.”
