Victoria is home to a dozen national teams including Athletics (West Hub), Cycling, Golf, Para-Swimming, Para-Yachting, Rowing, Rugby, Surfing, Swimming, Tennis and Triathlon. The latest to call the capital home is Women’s Field Hockey.  The men’s team recently announced West Vancouver as their home.

Team Canada women finished fifth overall at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, which was an outstanding performance for the globally ranked 21st team. Canada was bettered only by India, England, Australia and New Zealand – traditional world powerhouses.

There are several island-based players who welcomed the move from Vancouver including Alexis Dearmond, Kathleen Leahy, Maddie Secco, Danielle Hennig, Sara Goodman and Kaitlyn Williams.

The women play next in Salamanca, Mexico in the 2018 Hockey Series Open June 5 -10.

The team is seeking Managers, Videographers and Trainers.
