Victoria Sports News, a third-year sponsor of the Vancouver Island Race Series, contested via social media a season pass as well as consolation prizes to the 38th running of the series.

Contestants simply had to tweet or announce on facebook their favourite Vancouver Island Race Series event and why and were asked to add hashtags: “#VSN”, “#yyj” and the handles “@vanislandseries” and “@Vic_SportsNews”.

The series includes eight road races from Sooke to Sidney and Colwood to Courtenay. One is partially off-road with approximately 50% run on gravel at Hatley Castle – an 8K.

The value of the series is $175.00.

Secondary prizes are awarded as single race entries. Race entries must be used during the 2019 season. No cash value/no refunds.

Consolation winners

Kyle Weangant – Cobble Hill 10K

Denise Bodin – Cedar 12K

Valerie Christine – Pioneer 8K

Rob Little – Comox Valley Half Marathon

trigurl68 – Port Alberni 15K

Joseph Camilleri – Bazan Bay 5K

Joseph Camilleri I love the Pioneer 8K race as this is where I set my all time PB of 31:59 minutes with an Avg. Pace of 4:00 min/k. I hope to do the Vancouver Island Race Series as a build-up for my next marathon. I’ll be looking for additional news at VIRA – Island Race Series and Victoria Sports News. Let’s do this.
