All five games were played in week three, the big story was about all the draws.
All top-3 teams tied their games, which means there was not a lot of changes at the top with the undefeated teams.
The Game of the Week was between Bays and Nanaimo, it did not disappoint as teams played hard. Teams battled to a 2-2 draw.
Teams took advantage of defensive breakdowns, keepers were tested often, and several saves were needed especially late in the game.
Bays Utd scorers were Patrick Nelson and Craig Gorman. Nanaimo scorers were Daniel Cato and Jonathan McKenzie.
In the battle of Saanich, which coincidentally was a replay of last year’s Jackson Cup final, Lakehill and Gorge battled to a 1-1 draw.
Scoring for Lakehill was Wes Barrett, and for Gorge was Jon Shah.
At the Merle Logan pitch in Nanaimo, Mid Isle took down newcomers Fernwood by the score of 5-2.
Mid Isle goals were scored by Chris Merriman, Dan Citra, Ryan Andre, a Fernwood Own Goal, and Luke Holmes. Scoring for Fernwood was Gordon Elliot and Ernest Jegede.
At the Sherman Rd turf, Cowichan continued their recent string of good results by defeating Comox 1-0. Jordon Korven scored the only goal for the hosts, while Darian Achurch picked up the shutout.
The final game of the weekend saw Vic West earn their first points as they defeated Westcastle by score of 4-1. Vic West goals by Declan O’Callaghan, Dylan Kirk, Riley O’Neil, and Salem Almardy. Westcastle tally by Kalen Park.
