The Western Hockey League today announced that Victoria Royals’ forward Dante Hannoun has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week.

Through four games this past week, Hannoun tallied nine points (3g-6a). The 20-year-old forward opened the week with two goals and two assists on Tuesday against the Portland Winterhawks. Hannoun, who was held pointless on Wednesday, followed that performance with three assists versus the Prince George Cougars on Friday and a goal and an assist on Saturday against Vancouver.

The product of Delta, BC, currently leads the Royals in scoring with 28 points (13g-15a) in 24 games this season.

This is the first time that Hannoun has been name WHL Player of the Week. This also marks the ninth time that a Royals’ player has been named WHL Player of the Week after Tyler Soy (2017-18, 2016-17, 2015-16), Alex Forsberg (2015-16), Brandon Magee (2014-15), Travis Brown (2014-15), Joe Hicketts (2014-15) and Alex Gogolev (2012-13).

The 5-6, 160 lb Hannoun is in his fifth season with Victoria and has recorded 92 goals and 148 assists for 240 points over 282 regular season games.
